Roles & Responsibilities
Data Science Intern:
- Investigate and suggest novel statistical/ML models to meet the needs
- Determine the impact of the constructed machine learning approaches by defining and analysing different challenges in terms of important business metrics.
- Look for trends and patterns in the data, then interpret the results with a specific goal in mind.
- Create, implement, and manage ML/DL models in a working environment, or assist in building a platform that would enable the same.
- Assist the engineering team in bringing Data Science initiatives to fruition in close collaboration.
- Report findings and progress to pertinent parties.
- Stay up to current on developing AI/ML technology.
Data Analytics Intern:
- Drive business-critical analysis in the team by collaborating with senior analysts and product managers.
- Set up SQL queries and write Python automation scripts for different data pulls.
- Work on creating Tableau and Redash dashboards for the leadership team
- You’ll have the opportunity to work with sophisticated analytics tools and configurations and gain insight into MPL’s decision-making process.
Required Skills & Experience
Data Science Intern:
- Python and SQL knowledge is required. Proficiency with Rest/Fast APIs, AWS, and PySpark is preferred.
- Proficiency in Deep Learning, Machine Learning, and Engineering components of ML model implementation is mandatory.
- Possesses or is working towards a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a similar field (Preferred).
- Proficiency in statistical techniques, including time series analysis, forecasting, and hypothesis testing, is mandatory. Knowledge of addressing optimisation problems using (meta)heuristics and linear and nonlinear programming (Preferred).
- Above all, a curious mind, the capacity for abstraction and self-learning, as well as a willingness to take risks and fail at times.
- Competence in statistical analysis, probability and mathematics, and data analysis.
- Must feel at ease multitasking and operating in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace.
- Obtainable for a duration of three to six months.
Data Analytics Intern:
- MBA/graduate of Tier 1 engineering institute.
- Adapt at SQL queries.
- Strong product knowledge and analytical attitude; familiarity with Python and R preferable.
- Preferably, you have dashboarding experience with Tableau, Qlikview, Redash, etc.
